Klein's interest in health and spiritual healing followed a serious on-the-job injury in 2005. A butane tanker truck caught fire 75 feet away from her while she was reporting from the scene of a crash in Utah, severely burning her lungs, and requiring her to be placed on oxygen to breathe. Frustrated by the limits of conventional medicine and desperate to recover, Klein said she met with holistic practitioners that helped her quickly learn about herbal remedies.
"Within a month, I was off oxygen, breathing easier and feeling healthier," she said. "The journalist in me wanted to find out why these holistic remedies helped and ultimately led to the mind-body-spirit connection."
